Review: Transformers Sequel Stomps rather Threateningly into Cinemas

So, the gigantic, metal monsters are back in the not so much anticpated sequel to Transformers, the 2007 hit starring Shia LaBeouf (Even Stevens + Indy, seems to be in everything these days) as Sam Witwicky, who discovers the Autobots and their mission to protect Earth from the twisted Decepticons. The Movie was overall enjoyable and fantastic fun.
Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen, however, fits the stereotype of a rubbish sequel. No kidding, it is a bit of harmless fun, but I think the film just relied too heavily on Special Effects and 'witty' comments that usaully just involved swearing, already a warning sign if a movie relies on badly placed language.
It obviously appealed to people who think that a movie is 'epic', just because it has cool music and army helicopters, which is just a little bit shallow if there isn't a solid story line behind it like Transformers 2.
The acting wasn't to shabby, and few sparsely placed funny bits made the movie barely injoyable, but I definitely recommend Transformers (1) instead of the sequel

2 and a half hours of mind-numbing CG 'Fight Scenes' and head-bashing cliches makes this film only injoyable with a large group of friends. And Hallucinogens. For this reason, Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen gets
4 1/2
/ 10
So go see the first one.
